About This Experience
Ready to get hands-on with the spirits? Haunted ATX offers an intimate deep dive into the paranormal at The Clay Pit inside The Bertram Building — every Saturday night. This is your chance to explore and communicate with the entities that have called this place home for over a century.
The Bertram Building was a general store opened in the 1850s by the Bertram family. Among the spirits believed to inhabit the building is one of the youngest — a child of the original Bertram family. Your guide will walk you through the building's fascinating history before introducing you to the investigative equipment. Then it's your turn to try communicating with the paranormal yourself. Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment for the investigation as well.
Please note there will be light walking and stairs — dress comfortably and come ready to listen.
Equipment Used
Professional paranormal investigation tools are provided — you'll learn how to use each one. Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment as well.
Scans the FM and AM bands along with high-frequency white noise, where spirit voices can seemingly form words.
Entities are said to emit electromagnetic energy — this device detects unexplained fluctuations in electromagnetic fields.
Emits its own electromagnetic field and signals any disruptions that enter that field.
Measures the temperature of objects and entities in the room — including the ones you cannot see.
Used to capture voices or sounds that may not be audible in the moment — reviewed after the session.

Private Paranormal Investigation
Want to investigate with just your group? Private paranormal investigations are typically held on Friday nights at 10:30 PM at The Bertram Building. The experience can be customized to accommodate your party size — minimum 2 guests, no fixed maximum.

- Each additional ticket: $79 per person

- Price
- Public: $59 per person, not including tax or gratuity.
Private: $125 per person for the first two tickets, $79 per person for each additional ticket. - When & Where
- Public investigations run every Saturday at 10:30 PM at The Clay Pit, 1601 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78701. Please do not be late!
- Minimum Party Size
- We require at least 2 guests to run the experience. You may book individually and join other groups.
- Maximum Party Size
- The maximum party size is 10. Contact us for groups larger than 10.
- Age
- Due to tour content, we recommend guests be 13 and up. Content can be tailored for younger guests upon request.
- Investigation Length
- The experience lasts approximately 2 hours.
- Food & Drinks
- The Clay Pit kitchen and bar close at 10:00 PM. Guests are welcome to arrive early for a full sit-down meal, or order food and drinks to go during the investigation. No outside food or drink is permitted.
- Gratuity
- Your spiritual guide works hard to provide a safe and unique experience. Tipping is appreciated — here are some guidelines:
- 18% — Good
- 20% — Great
- 25% — Amazing!
- Cancellation Policy
- Space is very limited and spots cannot be re-sold once reserved.
- No-shows, same-day cancellations, and cancellations with less than 48 hours notice: no refund
- Canceled 2–7 days before your investigation: 50% refund
- Canceled 7 or more days before your investigation: full refund
